About

Located on the far south of Italy, Calabria is mostly known for its beautiful coasts where sand beaches mix with rocks and crystalline water. Nowadays, unfortunately, Calabria had lost a lot of its original authenticity due to an intensive and often insane exploit of tourism on the coastline specially near the most featured places. Yet, by walking far from the mainly frequented and touristic places, the region has a lot to show of its original demenour! Three main mountain complex, Pollino, Sila, Serre and Aspromonte, develops from north up to the south tip with tops up to 2000 meters above sea level. Old castles and ruins of ancients villages are often literally hanged on hills and rocky mountains sides, witnessing the old presence of communities and their ability to live in isolated context, taking from nature exactly what they need.

By walking on feet landscape of astonishing beauty shows from the heights of mountains, embracing land and sea in a whole. In the innermost of hills, water form uncountable rivers plays joyfully with rocks and breathtaking waterfalls arose suddenly from a turn on steeply path in the woods.

Then, by sitting on a rock below the fall, listening the deep and loud sound of water, feeling the tiny drops of water spreading all around, you can get a glimpse of the original wildness of the Land and reconnect unconditionally with the Whole we belong.

We are a group of excursionists meeting almost every weekend and walking on amazing paths in this beautiful and wild land, far away from the nonsense noise of the modern life. Do you like hiking?
